Highest mountains/Vulcanos in Peru


Peru is a country located in South America, known for its diverse geography, including its many mountains and volcanoes. The highest mountain in Peru is Huascarán, located in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range in the Ancash region. It stands at an elevation of 6,768 meters (22,205 feet) above sea level The second highest mountain in Peru is Yerupaja, located in the same mountain range as Huascarán, at an elevation of 6,634 meters (21,768 feet).

In addition to these two highest mountains, Peru is home to many other mountains and volcanoes. According to the Global Volcanism Program, Peru has 17 Holocene volcanoes. These include Chachani, Misti, Coropuna, Hualca Hualca, Nevado Chachani, Nevados Casiri, Nevados Firura, Quimsachata, Sabancaya, Sara Sara, Solimana, Ticsani, Tutupaca, Ubinas, and Yucamane.

The Chachani volcano is located in the Arequipa region of Peru and is the highest volcano in the country, standing at 6,057 meters (19,877 feet) above sea level. The Misti volcano is located in the same region and is the second highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,822 meters (19,098 feet) above sea level. The Coropuna volcano is located in the Ayacucho region and is the third highest volcano in Peru, standing at 6,425 meters (21,079 feet) above sea level.

The Hualca Hualca volcano is located in the Arequipa region and is the fourth highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,725 meters (18,769 feet) above sea level. The Nevado Chachani volcano is located in the same region and is the fifth highest volcano in Peru, standing at 6,088 meters (19,976 feet) above sea level.

The Nevados Casiri volcano is located in the Arequipa region and is the sixth highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,890 meters (19,320 feet) above sea level. The Nevados Firura volcano is located in the same region and is the seventh highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,890 meters (19,320 feet) above sea level. The Quimsachata volcano is located in the Arequipa region and is the eighth highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,890 meters (19,320 feet) above sea level.

The Sabancaya volcano is located in the Arequipa region and is the ninth highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,976 meters (19,606 feet) above sea level. The Sara Sara volcano is located in the same region and is the tenth highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,890 meters (19,320 feet) above sea level. The Solimana volcano is located in the Arequipa region and is the eleventh highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,890 meters (19,320 feet) above sea level.

The Ticsani volcano is located in the Arequipa region and is the twelfth highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,890 meters (19,320 feet) above sea level. The Tutupaca volcano is located in the same region and is the thirteenth highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,890 meters (19,320 feet) above sea level. The Ubinas volcano is located in the Arequipa region and is the fourteenth highest volcano in Peru, standing at 5,672 meters (18,624 feet) above sea level.
